Evelyn Sharma may have turned 23 just a month ago, but a website insists on projecting her as four years older.
Bolly Gupshup, the same site which carried a false report by one Gagan Deep Mishra alias Akash Deep Mishra last week stating that Evelyn had done plastic surgery and was part of the film Joker, seems to have cracked up once again.
This time round, another fabricated report on the same site has projected Evelyn to be four years older than her age.
“When we pointed out their folly, the site blamed Wikipedia as their source for the incorrect information, but ignored our request to correct the error,” informed Evelyn’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
“We are living in the information age. Practicing such falsities or apparently being vindictive towards an actress could discredit the media in general,” he pointed out, stating that it might take some time before deciding whether to complain to Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) of Mumbai Police or take legal action for defamation.
Actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma, who signed five films last year, has gone ahead and bagged one more! The hottie from Nautanki Saala! and the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) will now be seen in the ‘king of comedy’ David Dhawan’s forthcoming film Main Tera Hero, produced by Bollywood’s gorgeous dream-chasing tycoon Ekta Kapoor.
Pitted opposite the Student Of The Year young gun Varun Dhawan, Evelyn will share screen space with Nargis Fakhri (of Rockstar fame), and Ileana D’Cruz (of Barfi! fame).
“David Sir approached me because he loved my role in YJHD. I feel privileged to be his first choice for the character,” says a super-thrilled Evelyn.
“Come to think of it, Varun Dhawan now has three of superstar Ranbir Kapoor’s hottest girls for himself. That’s no less than a coup of sorts,” points out Evelyn’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
“This combo, with his movie maverick father David Dhawan at the helm of affairs; combined with Ekta Kapoor’s business and marketing acumen, is a sure-shot blockbuster proposition,” he analyzes.
Come 2014, and we sure have a lot to look forward to!
An incorrect report on the web has taken the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani hottie Evelyn Sharma by total surprise.
“I don’t know whether to laugh or cry foul,” she quips!
An article on a site called Bollywood Gupshup has claimed that Evelyn has “gone under the knife to shape her body and looks.” The piece written by one Gagan Deep Mishra, further states that her sensational act to appear topless on the cover of Krunch magazine “is well timed with her latest release Joker releasing this Friday.”
“Anyone in his senses would know that Joker released last year and Evelyn was not part of it. The site seems to be lost in time as well as facts,” points out Evelyn’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
Moreover, he says the actress is totally against plastic surgery. “Her figure is all natural. In fact, she has often gone on record saying that her hot bod is God’s gift and all she does is lots of hard work with commitment to maintain it.”
“Maybe the writer Gagan needs to look Deep into the sky for creative inspiration or stop Joking,” the publicist cheekily laughs it off.
Vikram Bhatt’s latest discovery Mandana Karimi has high hopes! The stunner, who is set to debut in Bhatt’s thriller Bhaag Johnny with Kunal Khemu and Zoa Morani, is making waves not only for the way she looks and acts, but also for how she thinks!
Recently, when Mandana donned the cover of a hi-end gadget magazine, she was asked, if she could invent a gadget, what it would be. And what could it be capable of doing.
Now, an unusual question like that may get many flummoxed, but not Mandana!
“It would undoubtedly be a time machine! Then I can travel to 2035 and star opposite
the 22-year old AbRam Shah Rukh Khan,” the gritty gal grinned and replied.
Ooh la la! While we are left speechless at her vivid imagination, Mandana promptly adds, “I’m sure, by then he would have grown into a dashing debonair, even more handsome than his illustrious father.”
Aha! For the uninitiated, Mandana has earlier featured with the Badshah of Bollywood in a slick advertisement for Royal Stag starring SRK and Saif Ali Khan.
Be it Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor or Parineeti Chopra, the new kids on the block are indeed proving themselves to be a fun-loving and funky yet intelligent lot.
Joining the bandwagon this week is Mandana Karimi, the dazzling new face in Vikram Bhatt’s forthcoming film Bhaag Johnny.
Mandana, who will feature as a lead alongside Kunal Khemu and Zoa Morani in the movie, is the new cover girl for Stuff magazine’s latest issue, where she has revealed some interesting things.
It turns out that one of the most expensive gadgets the girl owns is a water-proof camera. “I’m yet to test it underwater! Maybe, after I buy myself an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini,” she grins. Ooh la la! We’ll sure wait for that one!
Ask her about the simplest gadget she loves and she says, “I’d give that position to my trendy-looking mini hair dryer. I’m a girl who likes to travel light and this one fits neatly into my little traveling bag.”
More on the techno side, Mandana reveals she has a fascination for a big futuristic television set for her living room. “It should be a Full HD web-connected TV, preferably with stereoscopic 3D,” she quips, saying she’s already saving up for something like that. Atta girl!
As Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express rolls in this week, select cinema halls in the country will have audiences getting a taste of some delicious snacks from different Indian states.
If you are wondering how, we can let you in on a little secret. The exhibitor chain Rathi Group of Cinemas has tied up with the 60-year-old Kolkata-based company Mukharochak Foods to offer popular snack dishes like jhaal muri from Kolkata, kabuli chana chaat from Delhi and bhel from Mumbai at some of their theaters in their cinema hall chain.
Starting with Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express starring SRK and Deepika Padukone with a special song dedicated to none other than Rajnikanth, the mouth-watering experience will extend to Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara! (OUATIMD) starring Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha; closely followed by Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha starring Amitabh Bachchan with Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor.
OUATIMD producer Ekta Kapoor is kicked about the idea! “It’s a novel initiative in elevating the viewer’s movie-watching experience,” she quips.
Akshaye Rathi, the brain behind the association with the Kolkata-based company, sums it up saying, “Indians are passionate about films and food, so it can’t get better than offering the best of both worlds”. Indeed, with path-breaking marketing concepts such as these, Bollywood sure is on a fun romp.
Evelyn Sharma has been kissed! It so happens that Prateik Babbar had fallen head-over-heels for the sparkling gal and planted a hot one on her lips, much before he consolidated his love for his lifetime companion.
Now now! Before jump to conclusions, let us tell you that this is the way Evelyn’s role unfolds in the new Prateik starrer Issaq.
But more than her first on-screen kiss, Evelyn is a tad concerned about how she will look or be evaluated for her overall performance. “Issaq was the first movie I shot for. Since then I’ve honed my acting skills many times,” she remarks.
“The actress in me evolved as I acted in films like Nautanki Saala and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani,” says Evelyn and adds that she’s a bit nervous about how people will judge her in Issaq.
But considering her career has been on a constant upswing, we don’t think the gal as anything to worry about.
Coming up is yet another interesting character in Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar.
This followed by two more films she’s learnt to have just tucked in her over-flowing kitty. 2013 is turning out to be quite a roller-coaster ride for the newbie.
Even before her Bollywood debut film Yaariyaan hits the marquee, new sensation Rakul Preet is already a rage in the South.
Having acted in two movies down South, the newbie has been signed up for three more. Rakul will now be seen in the remake of the Telugu bumper hit Ala Modalaindi, being shot at breakneck speed. Here she stars opposite Gautam Karthik of Mani Ratnam’s Kadal fame.
Following this is Aadi’s next titled Rough and then a yet untitled flick with Sundeep Kishan (of Shor In The City fame) being produced by Anandi Arts.
Rakul is set to enter Bollywood with Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar, where she will be seen playing the role of a nerd; one who is very good with numbers.
Coming from a family background of the Indian Army, Rakul won various titles in the Miss India pageant of 2011.
She bagged Miss India People’s Choice, Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Fresh Face, Miss Talented and emerged the third runner-up finalist. Soon after, she participated in Miss Tourism in China and rose to the sixth position in the international pageant.
High on the heels of superhits Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Nautanki Saala, actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma brought in her 23rd birthday with a lot of zest and zing at Bandra hotspot Polpo this week.
And though she celebrated in typical Bollywood pomp and style, surprisingly the event was kept a hush-hush affair from prying cameras. Even some paparazzi was cleverly misled while her party raged on till late night with flowing red wine and a Cinderella-engraved cake.
In attendance were personalities from the fashion, film and business circles. Some of the names we stumbled upon include actors Prateik Babbar, Nathalia Kaur, Izabelle Leite, Madhura Naik, business tycoon Ashish Raheja, ace designer Rocky S, Sonam and Paras Modi, producers Dhaval Gada of PEN and Vishal Gurnani of The Entertainment Hub, photographer Vikram Bawa, singer Aditi Singh Sharma and DJ Deepesh Sharma aka Mr Right.
Having returned from IIFA last week, Evelyn is now gearing up for her next two releases this year. While she has a role with Prateik Babbar in Issaq (Manish Tiwary’s Hindi remake of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet), the gal will also be seen playing an angelic dream girl in T-Series’ Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of Super Cassettes icon Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar.
When actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma made her foray into Bollywood a year ago, not many expected the newbie from Germany to make her mark in Indian films!
But the sexy babe improved her Hindi and bagged five films within a few months. Now, two of her movies Ayan Mukherji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) and Rohan Sippy’s Nautanki Saala, have emerged runaway hits.
What’s more! YJHD, where Evelyn was seen in the key role of a hottie alongside Ranbir Kapoor, is the biggest blockbuster of the year.
Last year, Bollywood saw Rowdy Rathore, Housefull 2 and Agneepath cross the 100 crore mark. But this year, that honour has belonged only to YJHD until now.
Reveling in the success, Evelyn has been receiving meatier and more glamourous offers for movies, endorsements and fashion events. “Brand Evelyn has managed a sort of balancing act between being an actress, model and a fashionista,” quips her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
Her next release is Issaq with Prateik Babbar, followed by Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar. A super-packed year indeed!
What shall we say, but that luck, talent and success make an unbeatable combination. And Evelyn’s got it all neatly tucked in her kitty!
Rakul Preet who is set to enter Bollywood with Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar, is flattered.
While shooting for the upcoming movie, her senior co-star; the critically acclaimed Deepti Naval, praised Rakul to the skies; comparing her with Bollywood stalwarts such as Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit.
“I’m pleasantly surprised as much as I am delighted with the praise,” beams Rakul.
The newbie is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and Deepti Naval is keen she pursues dance more seriously. “Deepti mam feels I should capitalize on my Indian looks and hone my dancing skills. She told me, she felt that none after Madhuri or Sridevi has taken that place.”
Rakul has earlier proved her versatility, starting out with films in the South. She also made her mark a year ago, when she participated in the Miss India beauty pageant.
The girl won various titles like Miss India People’s Choice, Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Fresh Face, Miss Talented, and emerged the third runner-up finalist.
“Although there are many similarities between the tragic deaths of Jiah Khan and Viveka Babajee, it would be unfair to compare the two incidents, simply because Viveka’s family never admitted to her case being a suicide,” said PR specialist Dale Bhagwagar, who was roped in as a spokesperson by the Babajee family to address media misinterpretations after her demise.
“The Babajee family always maintained that they wanted the Police to investigate and the truth to prevail,” Bhagwagar pointed out.
The similarities include both the personalities found hanging from a ceiling fanat their apartments. Both hung from a piece of cloth. Again, in both cases, alover was involved. While stockbroker Gautam Vora was the last person to visit Viveka at her residence, actor Aditya Pancholi’s son Suraj was the last person Jiah Khan is said to have spoken to.
There was a ‘depression theory’ which followed both deaths. Viveka was initially written about in the media, as a person who was depressed, was on anti-depressants and suicidal. But as soon as Bhagwagar took charge, he called Press conferences on behalf of the Babajee family and revealed that her family felt, this was completely untrue. “This fabricated depression theory is being floated by Gautam Vora’s friends after her demise,” he had clarified.
Now in a shocking turn of events, Jiah’s mother Rabia Khanand sister Karisma have described a similar situation. “Reports that my daughter was depressed because of work are all rubbish,” said Rabia Khan. The Khan family also denied reports of traces of alcohol and anti-depressant pills in Jiah’s stomach. Karisma stated she expected Suraj to come and tell the truth of what really happened that night and what forced Jiah to take her life.
This is yet again reminiscent of the statement the Babajee family’s spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar had made after Viveka’s demise in 2010. “The Babajee family wants Gautam Vora to come up with the truth and nothing but the truth, about the death of Viveka,” he had said.
Meanwhile, the Police is reported to have taken the Viveka Babajee demise as a reference case study to further learn and investigate Jiah Khan’s case.
