Evelyn Sharma has been kissed! It so happens that Prateik Babbar had fallen head-over-heels for the sparkling gal and planted a hot one on her lips, much before he consolidated his love for his lifetime companion.

Now now! Before jump to conclusions, let us tell you that this is the way Evelyn’s role unfolds in the new Prateik starrer Issaq.

But more than her first on-screen kiss, Evelyn is a tad concerned about how she will look or be evaluated for her overall performance. “Issaq was the first movie I shot for. Since then I’ve honed my acting skills many times,” she remarks.

“The actress in me evolved as I acted in films like Nautanki Saala and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani,” says Evelyn and adds that she’s a bit nervous about how people will judge her in Issaq.

But considering her career has been on a constant upswing, we don’t think the gal as anything to worry about.

Coming up is yet another interesting character in Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar.

This followed by two more films she’s learnt to have just tucked in her over-flowing kitty. 2013 is turning out to be quite a roller-coaster ride for the newbie.

Even before her Bollywood debut film Yaariyaan hits the marquee, new sensation Rakul Preet is already a rage in the South.

Having acted in two movies down South, the newbie has been signed up for three more. Rakul will now be seen in the remake of the Telugu bumper hit Ala Modalaindi, being shot at breakneck speed. Here she stars opposite Gautam Karthik of Mani Ratnam’s Kadal fame.

Following this is Aadi’s next titled Rough and then a yet untitled flick with Sundeep Kishan (of Shor In The City fame) being produced by Anandi Arts.

Rakul is set to enter Bollywood with Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar, where she will be seen playing the role of a nerd; one who is very good with numbers.

Coming from a family background of the Indian Army, Rakul won various titles in the Miss India pageant of 2011.

She bagged Miss India People’s Choice, Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Fresh Face, Miss Talented and emerged the third runner-up finalist. Soon after, she participated in Miss Tourism in China and rose to the sixth position in the international pageant.

High on the heels of superhits Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Nautanki Saala, actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma brought in her 23^rd birthday with a lot of zest and zing at Bandra hotspot Polpo this week.

And though she celebrated in typical Bollywood pomp and style, surprisingly the event was kept a hush-hush affair from prying cameras. Even some paparazzi was cleverly misled while her party raged on till late night with flowing red wine and a Cinderella-engraved cake.

Having returned from IIFA last week, Evelyn is now gearing up for her next two releases this year. While she has a role with Prateik Babbar in Issaq (Manish Tiwary’s Hindi remake of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet), the gal will also be seen playing an angelic dream girl in T-Series’ Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of Super Cassettes icon Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar.

A rocking year indeed!

When actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma made her foray into Bollywood a year ago, not many expected the newbie from Germany to make her mark in Indian films!

But the sexy babe improved her Hindi and bagged five films within a few months. Now, two of her movies Ayan Mukherji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) and Rohan Sippy’s Nautanki Saala, have emerged runaway hits.

What’s more! YJHD, where Evelyn was seen in the key role of a hottie alongside Ranbir Kapoor, is the biggest blockbuster of the year.

Last year, Bollywood saw Rowdy Rathore, Housefull 2 and Agneepath cross the 100 crore mark. But this year, that honour has belonged only to YJHD until now.

Reveling in the success, Evelyn has been receiving meatier and more glamourous offers for movies, endorsements and fashion events. “Brand Evelyn has managed a sort of balancing act between being an actress, model and a fashionista,” quips her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

Her next release is Issaq with Prateik Babbar, followed by Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar. A super-packed year indeed!

“I’m pleasantly surprised as much as I am delighted with the praise,” beams Rakul.

The newbie is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and Deepti Naval is keen she pursues dance more seriously. “Deepti mam feels I should capitalize on my Indian looks and hone my dancing skills. She told me, she felt that none after Madhuri or Sridevi has taken that place.”

Rakul has earlier proved her versatility, starting out with films in the South. She also made her mark a year ago, when she participated in the Miss India beauty pageant.

Yeda Patil is none other than Sachiin Joshi, who plays the character of a whimsical cop to the hilt in Mumbai Mirror releasing this week.

With a grand premiere at Mumbai’s PVR, the film directed by Ankush Bhatt, is already garnering rave reviews for performances, choreography, music, the cinematography, as well as some daring action sequences picturised on the lead actor Sachiin. Lets see what the future holds in store for this latest cop caper.

As if to compliment Maharashtra Home Minister R.R.Patil’s drive to ban dance bars in Mumbai and other parts of the state, an eccentric police inspector Yeda Patil is all set to wreck havoc on the business, claiming that it promotes drugs and prostitution.

Before you jump about who Yeda Patil is, let us tell you that he is none other than the whimsical cop played by Sachiin Joshi in his forthcoming feature film Mumbai Mirror.

R.R.Patil, who has long-crusaded against dance bars, was recently quoted saying, “The decision (to ban dance bars) was taken to prevent the younger generation from getting spoiled by the dance bar culture.”

“The entire system was getting corrupt because of it and the business had become synonymous with crime,” the Home Minister had added.

Sachiin Joshi echoes the fiery minister’s righteous sentiment. “In Mumbai Mirror, we have explored the real reason behind why dance bars in Mumbai were shut. What a lot of people don’t know is that there was a lot of drug dealing and prostitution which was rampant in these bars.”

“If you are looking for similarities, then you can say that like the minister, Yeda Patil has his own way of doing things,” informs Sachiin. “But while R.R.Patil did everything in accordance with the law, Yeda takes matters in his own hands.”
