Itsy bitsy teenie weenie, Evelyn shines in pink bikini!

Critical reviews not withstanding, Evelyn Sharma has got on to a roaring start this year with Divya Khosla Kumar’s Yaariyan. Her pink-bikini number Sunny Sunny with Yo Yo Singh is a rage at discotheques and parties. Of course, the actress is elated.

 Image

The song is a blockbuster in India, but Evelyn couldn’t believe her ears, when she had a fan drool over her on the streets of Germany. On a visit to her hometown, the half-German half-Indian Evelyn sparkled with a broad smile, when a chap on the road started trailing her and singing her Yaariyan number Sunny Sunny.

 Image

While she blushed and walked away, she regrets not chatting with him. “He would surely have been a Bollywood-loving NRI since he was singing fluently in Hindi,” she says with a twinkle still in her eyes. “It was out of the blue and totally flattering.”

 Image

Moreover, Evelyn realized how big a hit the number has emerged with teens. “I get a high as I see its zooming popularity,” she admits.

Last year, the actress made a mark with key roles in hits like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani with Ranbir Kapoor and Nautanki Saala with Ayushmann Khurrana. Then a month ago, she hit fashion headlines with a sensuous short film called In Frost on the Fashion TV website.

 Image

Recently, Evelyn also found herself in the midst of a political controversy after she performed for the Saifai Mahotsav festival in Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. The presence of political heavyweights like Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, just a few days after the Muzaffarnagar riots in the state, compounded the situation.

 Image

It drew sharp reactions from other politicos including the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) state president Laxmikant Bajpai, Congress vice-president and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, as the actress waited it out helplessly.

Evelyn Sharma gets a Vidya Balan connect with Euphoria!

Even before actress Vidya Balan made it big in Bollywood, she was a known face in the industry, thanks to her association with the band Euphoria. Now, newbie Evelyn Sharma is hoping, the same magic will rub on her as well.

The half-German-half-Indian international supermodel, who is working in a couple of Hindi flicks, including the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone-starrer Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, says, “When I was approached to perform for a Euphoria video opposite Palash Sen, I was very excited.”

“They’ve introduced many popular actresses, including Vidya Balan and Neha Dhupia. Moreover, I’m a huge fan of rock music, so I was more than thrilled to do a slow rock song video with them,” she adds. Like most Euphoria numbers earlier, the recently released video is also getting rave reviews.

Meanwhile, apart from Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani under Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions, Evelyn’s is also gearing up for Manish Tiwary’s Issaq opposite Prateik Babbar and veteran filmmaker Pramod Chakravorty’s grandson Prateek Chakravorty’s debut film From Sydney With Love.

Foreign collaborations add glory to Indian film industry!

While British sensation Katrina Kaif continues to rule Bollywood, it was just the other week that we heard of the half-German-half-Indian international supermodel Evelyn Sharma entering Bollywood with three films already under her belt.

Now the latest on foreign collaborations in the Indian film industry is that Hollywood superstar Nicole Kidman has signed up to star in a movie produced and financed by Yash Raj Films Entertainment.

According to announcement made at the ongoing Film Festival at Cannes, Yash Raj has joined hands with French filmmaker Pierre-Ange Le Pogam to produce and finance Grace of Monaco, featuring Hollywood star Nicole Kidman.

Among other foreign girls who have joined hands with Indian film-making, are Arab Brazilian model Bruna Abdullah, Welsh model Lisa Lazarus, Swedish-Iranian model and dancer Maryam Zakaria, half-Sri Lankan half-Malaysian beauty Jacqueline Fernandez, half-Czech half-Pakistani American fashion model and actress Nargis Fakhri, South African Playboy model Candice Boucher, Uruguayan-Mexican actress and model Barbara Mori, Brazilian model Giselle Monteiro, Canadian model Mia Uyeda, British-born Amy Jackson, Russian model Era Tsariova, Indian Brazilian model Nathalia Kaur and Irish-born British granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin, Kiera Chaplin.

Though some people debate that India has many more beautiful faces to choose from and that our filmmakers shouldn’t be bothered to scout for talent outside! But the fact remains that the audience isn’t complaining at all. Instead, they are lapping up every foreign girl who joins forces with our industry. It’s the survival of the fittest and Brand Katrina Kaif is the biggest example.

Bollywood newbie Evelyn Sharma the new face of Rocky S.

The stunningly beautiful half-German half-Indian international model Evelyn Sharma first became the cynosure of all eyes, when she accompanied her designer friend Rocky S to the Ritesh Deshmukh-Genelia Sangeet ceremony before their wedding.

A far contrast from everyone dressed in traditional Indian outfits, Evelyn walked in wearing bright red jeans! Normally, anyone who’d do that at a Sangeet would risk a lot of frowns. But Evelyn’s poise and charm seemed to have unarmed everyone.

Following praise, she turned showstopper for Rocky, setting the ramp on fire at the Lakme Fashion Week! Some time later, she caught glances from the likes of Kangana Ranaut, Sameera Reddy, Madhur Bhandarkar and host Sohail Khan at the Provogue Royalty Fashion Nights launch.

And now, the latest is that Rocky S has signed the girl up as the face of his campaign Vilasa. Here, Evelyn sports a lot of Indian attires.

Though most foreigners are known to go wrong with ethnic outfits, surprisingly, the newbie is said to have taken to them, like fish to water! Ah, we can hardly wait to see this gal in her upcoming movies now!

Evelyn’s impressive Bollywood line-up includes Manish Tiwary’s Issaq opposite Prateik Babbar, veteran filmmaker Pramod Chakravorty’s grandson Prateek Chakravorty’s debut film From Sydney With Love, and a pivotal role in Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani; the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer under Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions.
