India’s only erotica icon Sherlyn Chopra rocked radio listeners across seven cities of the country with her sex gyan on World’s AIDS Day this week. Speaking exclusively to OYE 104.8 FM she advocated safe sex for the nation, saying “the world needs to mature, even as it grows wild.”

In a two-hour-long exclusive programme with renowned RJ Alok, the sex kitten used intellectual anecdotes and heart-warming shayeris to convey her noble message with her characteristic wicked wit to radio listeners across Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Amritsar, Jodhpur, Patiala and Shimla.

“The youth connects with Brand Sherlyn like nobody’s business, which is more than evident from her hardcore 1,29,734 followers on Twitter,” quipped her publicist Dale Bhagwagar. “So when Sherlyn Chopra advocates safe sex, teens understand that she means every word of it,” he added.

For the record, apart from being the cynosure of countless eyes, Sherlyn is all set to become the first Indian to be featured on the cover of the world-famous American men’s magazine Playboy. Come 2013, and the gritty girl will also be starring as the female lead in Rupesh Paul’s international film Kamasurtra 3D.

Bollywood newbie and fashionista Evelyn Sharma is gearing up for her new movie Nautanki Saala to rock Bollywood. And from what we hear, it has some fantabulous songs.

But to give her that special pep and charm, is none other than ex-superstar Madhuri Dixit’s nineties chartbuster Dhak Dhak Karne Laga from Beta. One can easily remember those days when the junta went mad over Madhuri’s bust-thrusts in the song.

Now the suave Rohan Sippy is attempting to recreate the Dhak Dhak magic as he directs Nautanki Saala; pegged as a quirky romance, co-produced by Ramesh Sippy and Bhushan Kumar.

The song featuring the entire cast of the film will have the half-German half-Indian Evelyn dressed in an ultra-glam sari.

She will be seen gyrating hips with Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapur to the beats of composer Mickey in the film, which also has a cameo by none other than Abhishek Bachchan.

When we inquired how Evelyn plans to match up to the charisma of Madhuri Dixit, her publicist Dale Bhagwagar cheekily replied, “Just by being herself” Now, that’s a smart-alec remark indeed! But let’s wait and watch if this Dhak Dhak can get our heartbeats racing all over again!

Reacting to an interview quote of Sambhavna that the Ali Merchant-Sara Khan marriage in Bigg Boss was a “gimmick’, Sara exploded, “Who the hell is Sambhavna to talk about my personal life? Before talking about others she should look at herself. What is she… only a C-grade film item dancer.”

Sara further lashed out, “I wonder if she made this statement to milk some free publicity for she could never achieve what I have done at such a young age.”

Though we wouldn’t dare comment on Sara’s achievements, Sambhavna’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar reciprocated, “I don’t think my client needs to get into this, so let me tackle it myself.”

He said, “First of all, I don’t think Sam knows Ms Khan in personal life. She might have just reacted to a question asked in an interview. Secondly, though a marriage ‘on screen’ is hardly a personal affair, of course, Sara’s marriage couldn’t have been a gimmick. After all, we all know, Bigg Boss doesn’t do gimmicks – it’s a ‘reality’ show, right?”

So that leaves us with Sara’s allegation about Sambhavna seeking “free publicity”. Looking amused as we bring that up, Dale remarks, “If Sam wants to generate publicity; she has the best publicist in me! Why would she need anyone else?”

Now that’s some fitting and dignified response from Sambhavna’s publicist which Sara really needs take tips from! In fact, we won’t be surprised if Sara seeks this smooth-talker for her publicity next time!

‘Oops!’ That might be how Aazaan star Sachiin Joshi might have reacted this week, when he tried to do a stunt for his forthcoming movie Mumbai Mirror where he plays a tough but quirky cop.

During a song picturisation, against the wishes of his unit, Sachiin refused to use a body double for a shot where his character had to break a Dahi Handi with his head in a fit of frenzy.

It was an energetic Govinda song with vigorous dancing, amidst 200 dancers, 250 Dahi Handi professionals and 500-strong crowd.

The mukhda went, “Poster phatega, toh hero hi niklega, mathey se phodega handi… Govinda aala re aala re, Govinda.” But our hero got so carried away in the passion of the shoot that while dancing with abandon he banged his head on the Handi real hard. But alas! It did not break. Instead Sachiin’s forehead started bleeding. Oh oh!

Confirming the incident, the actor’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar admitted, “Yes, Sachiin did get injured a bit. But even after the accident, he was sporting enough to carry on with the shoot, of course after a bit of first aid and medication.”

We checked on this with our khabri and realized Sachiin really hadn’t learnt his lesson! Our source informed us, he did continue to finally ‘break’ the Dahi Handi with his head in one of the retakes, even as the renowned choreographer Chinni Prakash looked at him in awe, admiring the young gun’s zest and determination.

Contrary to media reports, spiritual leader Paramahamsa Nithyananda, popularly known as Swami Nithyananda has not been “sacked” as the 293rd pontiff of the Madurai Adheenam; the oldest Saivite mutt established more than 1,500 years ago in South India.

Instead, he voluntarily offered to step down, after which the current pontiff Arunagirinatha Desikar announced Nithyananda’s exit.

Reacting to incorrect reports that the controversial self-styled godman was “sacked” as the next pontiff of Madurai Adheenam, his spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar clarified, “Nithyananda had himself offered to resign from the post. His exit seems right as he understood that technical issues surrounding his anointment could be taking its toll on the elderly senior pontiff’s frail health, peace of mind, or his position as the current head of the mutt.”

In view of the recent submission of the Tamil Nadu government that under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, two individuals cannot jointly hold the position of pontiff of Madurai Adheenam, the senior pontiff agreed to revoke the appointment of Swami Nithyananda.

Refuting rumours that the Swami’s supporters could cause trouble to inmates of the mutt, the spokesperson remarked, “Nithyananda advocates peace and happiness. He would never want any untoward incident. Through his ashram Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam in Bangalore, he will carry on and continue with his work and mission to serve humanity”.

Nithyananda is also rumoured to be on the current season of Bigg Boss to spread his message. However, Bhagwagar refused to confirm or deny that.

Bollywood actors Vivek Oberoi and Juhi Chawla follow him and his teachings. Tamil actress Ranjitha continues to be his disciple. And while his detractors remain flummoxed over Swami Nithyananda’s constantly rising popularity despite controversies, the self-styled godman has a new disciple in another Tamil actress Kausalya.

Kausalya, who played lead roles in famous Kollywood films like Sollamale, Vaanathaippola and Priyamudan, and later turned into a character artist with Vijay’s movies Thirumalai and Santhosh Subramaniam, recently joined the spiritual leader’s ashram as a disciple.

Apparently, Kausalya was bothered by a severe back pain over the last couple of years. She is said to have tried various treatments, before her friend suggested she try the healing therapies at Nithyananda’s ashram.

“Swami Nithyananda is a well-known healer and an enlightened personality. His aura and knowledge is abounding. But just as controversies follow Brand Nithyananda in the media; glamour comes marching and rallying behind him,” remarked his publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

“However, inspite of the constant media speculations and controversy overdose, Swami Nithyananda remains almost unaffected and always smiling,” he pointed out and added, “Nothing is able to scar his mind or persona, and his legion of followers keeps growing.”

While many in Bollywood are bhakths of Lord Ganesha, you might not be knowing that Aazaan star Sachiin Joshi is a hardcore one.

Fascinated by the forms of Ganpati Bappa since his childhood, Sachiin has been a firm believer in Ganeshji’s blessings. This year, along with his friends and family, he traveled to his hometown Pune for the immersion.

“Sachiin and his family have been celebrating the ritual of Ganesh Chaturthi since years with a lot of gusto and grandeur, and this year, it just got better” said the actor’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar. “He participated in a five-hour long super-energetic procession after the pooja and aarti,” he informed.

What’s more! The actor had specially called for Nasik dhol along with another band that took turns to perform a mix of traditional and Bollywood numbers.

This built the tempo and momentum right up to the immersion, while he and his friends danced with great frenzy. To add to this, was a dazzling display of fireworks.

Nearly 400 people gathered to join this celebration, followed by traditional dinner after the immersion.

If rumours are to be believed, India’s most controversial spiritual leader Swami Nithyananda might be entering the country’s biggest reality show Bigg Boss.

The self-styled godman who shot to notoriety with unproven allegations of a sex scandal with Southern actress Ranjitha, was also the target of a former disciple who frivolously claimed to have been raped by him 40 times over five years.

Even while these cases reached the courts, Swami Nithyananda became a favourite punching bag for many television channels, but surprisingly witnessed growth in popularity and followers.

When asked about reports regarding Nithyananda entering Bigg Boss, his spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar admitted, “I’ve been told, the godman has been approached earlier,” but added, “It’s too early to confirm or deny.”

Apparently, in their agreements for Bigg Boss, all participants are bound by a very strong secrecy clause about their entry on the show. That could be a reason; most never admit to their participation before the show.

When it comes to knowledge and awakening, not many can match up to the self-styled godman Swami Nithyananda.

So when the spiritual leader was recently asked about international talk-show host and American crusader Oprah Winfrey taking digs at Indians eating with hands, Nithyananda shot back saying, “Just like the West has benefited by accepting Yoga from India, they should also begin eating with hands. It’s one of the healthiest practices of time-tested civilizations.”

“Our roots are the same. It is from India that the Rishis went and settled in Africa and created their civilization. Thus, even the African civilizations are known to eat with their hands,” he explained.

Nityananda said, “I invite Oprah to begin eating with her hands and return to her roots… our common roots. I welcome her to taste the joys of natural eating.”

“Indians eating with hands seems to be repeatedly emerging as an issue with Westerners,” remarked the Swami’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar. He pointed out that a few weeks ago; even Miss India UK Deana Uppal was mocked by her fellow contestants in the world’s biggest reality show Big Brother for the same.

Earlier, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty was attacked by Jade Goody in Celebrity Big Brother over food issues.

Dale, who was also Shilpa’s publicist then, reminisces, “A tiff around the dining table sparked off a huge racial discrimination controversy with Shilpa ultimately winning the show and emerging an icon against racism for the world to look up to.”

Firebrand Sambhavna Seth never stops amusing us! The latest on this spunk-chick is that she has gone ahead and performed a song in the praise of an MP. No, not an actor, performing as an MP! But a REAL Member of Parliament!

The politician is Raju Shetti who is said to have started out as a marginal farmer in Shirol village in Kolhapur and finally rose to become an MLA, and later an MP in the 15th Lok Sabha of India.

The film called Senani, which will be released in Marathi as well as Hindi, has a song dedicated to the politician, who will also feature in it! Sambhavna will be seen singing praises in his honour and even dancing for him.

“Mind you, it’s not an item song,” quips Sam. Recalling her shoot, she says, “The film-makers have specially done this song in praise of Raju Shetti because he’s made a difference to the people of his constituency and they wanted to showcase that. While shooting with him, I realized that he was a thorough gentleman and the masses there loved him like crazy.”

Recalling her stint in Bigg Boss, where one of her Housemates included another politician Sanjay Nirupam, Sam remarks, “During tasks given to us on the show, Nirupam always used to say, he cannot sing and dance because of his public image. Though Raju Shetti didn’t have to dance in this song, he did not have any such hang-ups either.”
