Sara Khan puts Ali Merchant in jeopardy!

Indicating that her emotions for Bollywood actor Ashmit Patel in the reality show Bigg Boss are genuine, television’s princess Sara Khan (of Bidaai fame) was captured on camera, confiding in co-participant Shweta Tiwari that she was through with her boyfriend Ali Merchant. “I have dignity and I am not the type to say such things for the sake of TRPs,” she quipped on the show, signaling Ali’s exit from her life.

It can be recalled that last week, Ali Merchant went to town giving interviews to the media, stating that the Ashmit-Sara romance on Bigg Boss was stage-managed by the Colors channel, with deliberate intentions of boosting their viewership. Squarely blaming the broadcaster for fooling the public in the name of a reality show, Ali had alleged, “Sara’s footage with Ashmit is specially being highlighted in a bid to create extra masala to spice up the show to increase the TRPs.”

When asked, if he felt threatened or insecure about Ashmit, he had asserted, “Our relationship is pure and things will definitely smoothen when Sara gets back from the show. I am 200 percent sure that nothing is happening between them (Ashmit and Sara). He (Ashmit) should back off and not meddle in other people’s matters.”

Now, with Sara revealing on Bigg Boss that she feels Ali had been double-timing her (she even narrated instances of her catching him red-handed) the situation has taken a complete U-turn. Sara stated that she does not intend to continue her relationship with Ali on her return from the show, and this has put Ali in the most embarrassing situation of his personal life. Not only has he lost his girlfriend, but he has also lost face in public. Plus, since Ali has already bad-mouthed the channel in the media, his chances of appearing on Bigg Boss too, seem bleak.

But Ali has found a sympathizer in the most unlikely person. Ashmit Patel’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar, feels sorry for Sara’s ex. “Ali miscalculated when he attempted to get the media on his side, while an upset Sara is still in the House; seen and heard on national television every day. Probably, he was ill-advised and he chose to jump to conclusions before time, ending up looking like a PR disaster. Hope he intelligently gets over the crisis situation now,” said the PR specialist.

Veena Malik attacks Ashmit Patel

After placing match-fixing allegations on ex-boyfriend and Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif and unceremoniously dragging Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra’s name in the international cricket scandal, Pakistani starlet Veena Malik seems to have surprisingly turned her attention towards Bigg Boss co-participant Ashmit Patel this week.

Ashmit, a favourite with girls on the reality show, has currently been given a kitchen task of cleaning dishes in the Bigg Boss House. But when he stressed on cleanliness of utensils, out of the blue, Veena suddenly lashed out at him. “Aap ko bahut shaq hai baat karne ka, aur main yahan pe relax kar rahi hoon… Go….  Apna kaam karo… mujhpe ehsaan kar rahe ho kya.” When Ashmit started to leave the argument, saying he’s going for a workout, Veena shouted at him again, “Meri bala se workout karo… I don’t care,” she shot and added, “Jhoothe bartan dhota hai, toh khana bhi toh khata hai.

From the looks of it, Veena gives more significance to tiffs over emotions of the co-participants on the show. Ashmit’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar agrees. “Veena is just a drama queen. She talks about tehzeeb (etiquette) and integrity, but seems to do everything for effect,” he remarked.

Undoubtedly, Veena’s attention-seeking antics are questionable, but the irony is that such cocky behaviour has also come to be known as a necessary evil for reality shows, so it has to be tolerated by the other participants. “Ashmit is a responsible person. He might get upset on the spur of the moment, but I’m sure he will get over this volley of words and bounce back with dignity,” Bhagwagar added.

It will be interesting to watch how far Veena’s ‘stings’ (she’s been nicknamed Vishkanya on the show) will take her on Bigg Boss. As far as the viewers are concerned, they seem to be lapping up every bit of the drama, as much as they are enjoying host Salman Khan’s dabangg moves and jibes.

Veena Malik attacks Neetu Chandra from Indian turf!

As if tossing baseless allegations and falsely claiming that actress Neetu Chandra is involved in the international match-fixing scandal wasn’t enough, Veena Malik, a starlet based in Pakistan, is now hurling more accusations at the Bollywood actress, this time from Indian turf.

Veena recently made headlines by claiming that her ex-boyfriend; Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif and his team-mates Salman Butt and Mohammed Aamer were involved in spot-fixing in the series against England. While the Interpol and Scotland Yard are reported to be investigating the matter, Veena came up with fresh allegations that Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra had a relationship with the tainted Asif. She further declared that Neetu had a hand in the match-fixing scandal which has taken the cricketing world by storm.

“I saw her number flash on Asif’s cellphone many times; that’s what I told the investigators,” mentioned Veena in an interview to a newspaper just before entering the Bigg Boss House in Lonavala.

Neetu Chandra’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar, who has repeatedly denied and rubbished all of Veena Malik’s claims, was quick to react, “Neetu has no connection with either match-fixing, Mohammad Asif or any Pakistani cricketer. She is not even a cricket fan and has never ever watched a complete cricket match.”

Meanwhile, Veena’s speculatory claims about Neetu are putting a big question mark on the credibility of her scandalous statements. “Whatever Veena Malik says in Bigg Boss too should be taken with a pinch of salt. It seems, she says things for effect and to attract attention of gullible audiences,” remarked the celebrity publicist.

When asked why Veena could be continuously dragging Neetu’s name in the cricket scandal, Bhagwagar said, “It remains a mystery we’d ourselves like to solve. Veena has earlier stated that she has Bollywood dreams. Media mileage in India is the only reason we can suspect as of now. What we don’t understand is why Veena has without cause picked Neetu for it!”

Neetu Chandra questions authenticity of Veena Malik’s claims!

Rubbishing all of Pakistani actress Veena Malik’s statements on Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra’s involvement in the match fixing scandal that has taken international cricket by storm, the latter’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar said, “Veena Malik seems to be a very good actress and the media seems to love the drama. But for Neetu Chandra, Veena’s speculatory claims have put a big question mark on the credibility of her scandalous statements.”

“It seems Veena Malik is doing all this to get back at her ex-boyfriend Mohammad Asif. If that is the case, it is unfair to drag Neetu’s name in the match fixing scandal, especially when Neetu has no connection with either Mohammd Asif or any Pakistani cricketer,” added the celebrity publicist.

“Does Veena have any proof that Neetu ever knew Mohammad Asif? Does she have any evidence that the Indian actress who Veena claims, spoke to Asif, was indeed Neetu Chandra? If not, what is the purpose behind dragging the Bollywood actress into the cricket scandal? It seems like a big conspiracy. Is it because Veena has Bollywood ambitions? Is this a ploy to get famous in Bollywood?” asked Bhagwagar.

The publicist also questioned the authenticity of the so-called ‘document’, which supposedly states that Neetu had two conversations from her mobile phone with Mohammed Asif in 2009.

If reports in a section of the media are to be believed, the document, said to have been prepared by the Interpol and Scotland Yard on match fixing, got leaked from the Pakistan Cricket Board. “This seems to be another frivolous story. Has any Indian agency verified the authenticity of this document? Neetu has completely denied knowing Mohammad Asif. So why is Veena Malik harping on Neetu Chandra’s name? What is her interest and intention? Is she making a scapegoat out of Neetu Chandra? Does Veena Malik have any substantial evidence whatsoever to prove her claims about Neetu Chandra? Is it possible that the Pakistani actress has been creating these stories all along for publicity? Is she using the Indian media for free mileage?” questioned the publicist.

Going by the intricacies of the allegations on Neetu Chandra, these are just a few of the many questions Veena Malik needs to stand up and answer.

Meanwhile, Bhagwagar reiterated that Neetu does not know Mohammad Asif personally, and all allegations of links with the Pakistani bowler are untrue. “Neetu is nowhere connected to cricket or the scandal,” he stated. He added that she has not been interrogated by the Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU) of International Cricket Council (ICC), as reported by a section of the media. “Just like Veena Malik’s speculatory claims about Neetu, that too was an incorrect report. The actress is very much in Mumbai and amused at all these false and fake allegations,” he stated.

Furthermore, Bhagwagar pointed out that Neetu was a basketball enthusiast and a Black Belt 2nd Dan in Taekwondo, having represented India at the international level, but not a cricket fan. “She hardly watches cricket and it doesn’t interest her much. In fact, she has never ever watched a single cricket match in its entirety,” he said.

Neetu Chandra denies match-fixing allegations

Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra today denied having any links with Pakistani bowler Mohammad Asif, who is at the centre of a ‘spot-fixing’ scandal that has rocked world cricket.

The controversy began with most Indian television channels discussing a “leaked” document, which they claimed, was prepared by the Interpol and Scotland Yard for the Pakistan Cricket Board. Apparently, this document contains various phone numbers of people who interacted with Mohammad Asif in 2009.

The TV reports stated that in this document, the only mobile number from Mumbai, belonged of actress Neetu Chandra, and insinuated that she could be involved in the infamous match-fixing scandal. They further claimed that according to the document, the actress had made two phone calls and exchanged SMS’s with the controversial cricketer, discussing sensitive cricket issues and deals.

But Neetu Chandra’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar vehemently denied all the allegations. “Personally, Neetu does not know Mohammad Asif or any Pakistani cricketer for that matter. Her name is being unceremoniously dragged in the match-fixing debate with baseless allegations,” said the celebrity publicist.

“Neetu didn’t even know how Asif looked like. Within minutes of this controversy breaking out, I met her and showed her his picture from the internet on my BlackBerry. Neetu glanced at it and almost jumped from her chair, joking, ‘Oh, he’s too dark’. She also doesn’t know or understand how her cell number has featured on such a scandalous list. If it indeed has, it could well be a conspiracy,” added the PR specialist.

Owing to her active association with sports, recently, Neetu also became one of the few privileged Bollywood celebrities to have the honour of running with the Commonwealth Games torch (popularly known as the Queen’s Baton) in her hometown Patna. Apart from being a regular basketball player, the actress is a Black Belt 2nd Dan in Taekwondo, having participated in various martial arts tournaments at a district, national, as well as international level. Though Bhagwagar revealed, she is not a cricket fan.

This year, Neetu has an impressive line-up of films like Anees Bazmee’s ‘No Problem’ (with Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna and Sushmita Sen), Gary Grewal’s ‘Khusar Prasad Ka Bhoot’ (with Paresh Rawal and Randeep Hooda), Barnali Shukla’s ‘Kuch Love Jaisa’ (with Rahul Bose) amongst two other mega-budget ventures opposite superstars of the South.
