Media raves about Divya Agarwal’s Cartel character transformations by Preetisheel Singh D’souza

Compares them with Hrithik Roshan’s look transformations

The news media is going ga-ga over the various character transformations of Divya Agarwal for the web series Cartel. Designed by character designer Preetisheel Singh D’souza of Da Makeup Lab, the various looks show the Bigg Boss OTT winner in different stunning avatars.

An article in Desi Martini praises the looks to great heights saying, “The actress seems to have recreated Hrithik Roshan’s Doom 2 shape-shifting success with her role in Cartel.”

It notes that in one of the transformations into an old man, one “can hardly tell it’s her, thanks to the amazing prosthetics, and in another, she’s a cleaning lady, eons away from what she looks like in real life.”

Recently, Divya shared a time-lapse video of her transformation, diligently being done by makeup and prosthetic specialists of Da Makeup Lab which specialises in hair, makeup and prosthetics, having its landmark base in the high-end Versova locality of Mumbai.

Along with the video, the actress penned a long note saying, “This is how I spent my birthday on 4th December 2019, friends and family were waiting for me at home for celebrations and I was just so proud to start Cartel on that day! This was the cast for my prosthetic makeup, took nearly 2 hours with all my senses blocked except for my nose! I was calm, composed and yet my heart was jumping! There were calls flowing in continuously for birthday wishes, I wanted to scream and share this good news but I couldn’t! somewhere I knew my birthday gift was special that year, it was my last birthday celebration with my dad and I told him I’m doing a web series of your favourite genre and he was very happy.”

Divya plays an assassin in the crime thriller which has been released on Alt Balaji. The series has garnered a very high 8.9 out of 10 rating on IMDb.

Preetisheel transforms stylish Boman Irani into an urban common man

Ace character designer Preetisheel Singh D’souza has sprung up yet another surprise with her transformative looks for actor Boman Irani in the latest Ambuja Cement ad.

The versatile and stylish Boman plays a simple common man in the ad, who is desperately seeking a bank loan from a resistive bank manager played by another talented actor, Vinay Pathak. When Boman’s loan doesn’t get approved, he ends up hatching a plan to rob the bank.

Boman is shown aging as time passes, with the situations in the ad taking a hilarious turn. In contrast to the funny tone of the ongoings, Preetisheel has designed some unique desi urban common man looks for the actor, which add to the charm of the proceedings in the ad.

The hair, makeup and prosthetic character designer is currently tapping new horizons by creating medical prosthetics as well as planning a makeup and prosthetics school in Mumbai.

On the film work front, she is gearing up for the release of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, where the southern superstar has been given a very raw and rustic look.

Apart from that Preetisheel’s recent work for Ekta Kapoor’s web series Cartel has also been in the news. The way the makeup and prosthetics specialist has transformed actress Divya Agarwal, designing five different characters for her, is to be seen to be believed.

Indian-American publication showers praise on Preetisheel Singh

India West, the numero uno publication for the Indian-American community in the US has featured India’s No.1 makeup and prosthetic wiz Preetisheel Singh, showering praises on her “exceptional innings” in Bollywood.

Giving references of Akshay Kumar’s character of Bala in Housefull 4, Ayushmann Khurrana as the hero in Bala, Sunny Singh in Ujda Chaman and many more, the article by veteran journalist Rajiv Vijayakar points out that look designer Preetisheel “specializes in making up the faces of those we know to look like someone we do not!” Adding that with Preetisheel, “it is not just about faces but the entire body, the persona.”

The article goes on to give more details. “Look at Bhumi Pednekar’s appearance as a dark and simple social worker in Bala and contrast her va-va-voom looks in Pati Patni Aur Woh and you know what Singh is up to in film after film. Remember also the plump body-suit of Maanvi Gagroo in Ujda Chaman.”

“The complete look design of every actor in Housefull 4 in the period portions and of every artiste in Chhichhore both in their 1990s youth and current middle-aged versions, the Tamil hit Bigil featuring Vijay in a dual role, and a treasury of past excellence in films as diverse as Bajirao Mastani, Shivaay, Padmaavat, 102 Not Out, Mulk and PM Narendra Modi shows that Singh is no ordinary achiever.”

“Exceptional innings in less than eight years sees Singh have no predecessor in Indian cinema,” the article analyses.

For the record, Preetisheel is a National Award-winner, having worked for huge box-offices successes such as Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Chhichhore, 102 Not Out, Mulk, Bala and Housefull 4, and designed looks for all the A-listers including names like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. What’s more! After conquering Bollywood, she is now exploring the Southern industry more and more.

Preetisheel Singh’s magic works with Akshay Kumar once again!

Just a while ago, Akshay Kumar praised India’s numero uno makeup and prosthetic designer Preetisheel Singh to the skies, calling her a “magician” with her work involving makeovers and look transformations.

Akshay first worked with Preetisheel for the hard-hitting film Brothers. Later, Preetisheel designed the ‘pregnant’ look for Akshay for The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Then came the Livguard advertisement, where she transformed the actor’s looks as Albert Einstein and Bruce Lee. More recently, they got together for the much talked-about bald look of Bala for the superhit Housefull 4.

And now Akshay and Preetisheel have woven their magic once again with the latest Kurkure ad starring the actor in a triple role of son, father and grandfather.

Showcasing the new ad on his Instagram account, Akshay wrote: “Happy to share about my newest association #Kurkure. Introducing new Kurkure Gazab Golmaal and Kurkure Hera Pheri Hungama flavours… ismein kya masale hain, kisi ka baap bhi nahi bata sakta! @kurkuresnacks #baaprebaap.”

Says an exuberated Preetisheel, “Akshay is a darling to work with, as he is not only easy-going and super-talented, but extremely professional. He never fails to acknowledge my efforts too.”

The ad intelligently portrayed a tongue-in-cheek nok-jhok between the three generations, with Akshay looking extremely cute in all the three avatars, while his body-language is seen to be believed. What more can we say! Yeh Kurkure looks ki hera pheri ke hungama se mazaa aa gaya!!
