Veena Malik attacks Ashmit Patel

After placing match-fixing allegations on ex-boyfriend and Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif and unceremoniously dragging Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra’s name in the international cricket scandal, Pakistani starlet Veena Malik seems to have surprisingly turned her attention towards Bigg Boss co-participant Ashmit Patel this week.

Ashmit, a favourite with girls on the reality show, has currently been given a kitchen task of cleaning dishes in the Bigg Boss House. But when he stressed on cleanliness of utensils, out of the blue, Veena suddenly lashed out at him. “Aap ko bahut shaq hai baat karne ka, aur main yahan pe relax kar rahi hoon… Go….  Apna kaam karo… mujhpe ehsaan kar rahe ho kya.” When Ashmit started to leave the argument, saying he’s going for a workout, Veena shouted at him again, “Meri bala se workout karo… I don’t care,” she shot and added, “Jhoothe bartan dhota hai, toh khana bhi toh khata hai.

From the looks of it, Veena gives more significance to tiffs over emotions of the co-participants on the show. Ashmit’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar agrees. “Veena is just a drama queen. She talks about tehzeeb (etiquette) and integrity, but seems to do everything for effect,” he remarked.

Undoubtedly, Veena’s attention-seeking antics are questionable, but the irony is that such cocky behaviour has also come to be known as a necessary evil for reality shows, so it has to be tolerated by the other participants. “Ashmit is a responsible person. He might get upset on the spur of the moment, but I’m sure he will get over this volley of words and bounce back with dignity,” Bhagwagar added.

It will be interesting to watch how far Veena’s ‘stings’ (she’s been nicknamed Vishkanya on the show) will take her on Bigg Boss. As far as the viewers are concerned, they seem to be lapping up every bit of the drama, as much as they are enjoying host Salman Khan’s dabangg moves and jibes.

‘Ashmit-Sara romance NOT stage-managed’

Reacting to claims by television star Sara Khan’s ex-boyfriend Ali Merchant that the Ashmit PatelSara Khan romance in ‘Bigg Boss’ is ‘stage-managed’ by the television channel airing it, Ashmit’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar has said, “Ashmit is just being himself on the show. Nothing about him is fake or stage-managed. Even if his emotions were to be manipulated by someone on the show, he wouldn’t know it.”

Meanwhile, giving interviews against the channel airing the reality show, Ali Merchant has alleged that the broadcaster is deliberately trying to project the Ashmit-Sara ‘relationship’ as a ‘romance’ by showing selective footage to the viewers. “All that gets the channel the TRPs,” Ali has stated. It is surprising that Ali has chosen to adopt this anti-broadcaster stand, inspite of the ‘Bidaai’ fame actress publicly denouncing her relationship with him and bidding bidaai to Ali on the show, while professing her love for Ashmit.

“Since it’s a reality show and almost everything’s on camera, it’s a very tricky situation for all involved,” admitted Bhagwagar. “I understand how embarrassing a situation this is for Ali. I sympathize with him as it must be a PR nightmare for him. After the show, if he goes back to Sara, he would be looked upon as a weak man. If Sara goes back to him, her character could come in question. It’s a complete catch-22 situation, but since we are also talking emotions here, it’s not correct for Ali to blatantly blame the TV channel for his personal break-up,” the publicist added.

As far as Ashmit goes, it’s evident from the show, that the debonair is taking things at face value and as they come. No doubt, the Bollywood actor’s approach to Sara’s moves has been responsible and dignified. And that is also one of the reasons he’s emerged a favourite with girls on and off the show.

Ashmit cries over lost love but vows to be strong

In a surprising turn of events actor Ashmit Patel broke down crying in the Bigg Boss House on Day 1, over the infamous MMS scandal, shedding tears and saying he lost his love because of a controversy.

In the drawing room of Bigg Boss, when Manoj Tiwari probed why Ashmit had been selected for the show, the Bollywood actor mentioned that he suspected, it was because of the controversies he was once embroiled in. But Veena Malik being from Pakistan, seemed unaware about Ashmit’s past and continued to ask, so did Manoj Tiwari.

Ashmit dodged the questions for sometime saying, “Batane ka koi matlab nahin. Its controversial and I can’t talk on camera,” but slowly dropped his guard and began pouring his heart out.

“Over the years I’ve gone through a lot of pain,” he revealed. “If it was only about me, I’d have overcome. But there was someone else involved. There was a lot of pressure, family problems and upheavals. Even as my film Murder was being shot, my debut film Inteha flopped and my career went for a toss,” he recalled.

“I was young and naïve and branded an unsuccessful and flop actor. Then, I fell seriously ill, had no cash, no luck. But when the Press wrongly blamed me for distributing an MMS of my girlfriend and labeled me a ‘demon’, I was heartbroken. I lost my love. Woh mera pyaar tha, par mujhse bichad gaya,” Ashmit lamented.

“But I bounced back and I’ve decided to fight. I won’t be a loser. I’ve managed to get my family back together and I’m proud of it. It’s not important whether I win or lose in Bigg Boss. The fact that I have decided to stand up against odds and face the process called life, makes me a winner any which way,” he remarked getting emotional, as he got up and walked out of the drawing room, unable to contain his tears.

Meanwhile, Shweta and Manoj Tiwari got philosophical about the “misunderstandings” life had to offer Ashmit, but it was Sameer Soni who seemed to have got it right. “I’m glad Ashmit has finally faced his past. It was long due. Kyonki yeh sharafat mein chup rehta hai,” he said.

Outside that House, Ashmit’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar heaved a sigh of relief. “When I saw the footage of Ashmit breaking down on the first day itself, I was worried. But having faced his past with such admirable courage, he has actually emerged stronger,” he remarked.

Ashmit breaks down as Bigg Boss takes a flying start!

Even as Bigg Boss Season 4 took a flying start, actor and contestant Ashmit Patel was seen breaking down on Day 1 in the opening episode’s last shot. One wonders why!

Ashmit got into the House all smiles after a spirited dance performance, and was courtesy personified, specially when model Aanchal Kumar entered. He not only escorted her to show the bedroom, but helped her with her luggage. “Ek hi room hai,” he told her, as Aanchal realized, she’d have to share the huge master bedroom without walls, with all the contestants. “Surprise pe surprise de rahe hai Bigg Boss,” quipped Ashmit.

But Aanchal seemed to have quickly adapted to the surprises and even followed Ashmit back into the room as he ventured to help model Hrishant Goswami a few minutes later.

“Though it’s too early to predict whether Ashmit and Aanchal have the hots for each other, a vibe seems to be set,” said Ashmit’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar, specially hired by the actor last week, to act as his damage limitation man while he is in the House. “I’m more concerned about why Ashmit broke down and am eagerly waiting for the Day 2 footage to check out what went wrong. I’m hoping it’s not something serious,” he added.

“Ashmit is a very determined and courageous boy and I am positive, whatever the problem, he would regain his confidence and bounce back,” remarked Bhagwagar. The PR specialist has earlier handled Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty for more than five years and even as she fell into the infamous racism controversy in the UK reality show.

Many other Bigg Boss contestants like Rakhi Sawant, Diana Hayden, Shamita Shetty, Sherlyn Chopra, Vindu Dara Singh and Zulfi Syed have been Bhagwagar’s clients from time to time. He also handles the PR for actress Neetu Chandra, whose name was dragged by current Bigg Boss contestant and Pakistani actress Veena Malik in the international match-fixing scandal last month. Neetu, who was also approached for the reality show, refrained from participating, saying she was not cut out for it.

Meanwhile, inspite of tough competition from the premiere of the Commonwealth Games the same evening, Bigg Boss is reported to have touched a new high in TRP ratings for its channel Colors this Sunday.

Fresh from one of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters Dabangg, Salman Khan’s star-power has managed to draw enormous interest and viewership, while the 14 varied contestants like Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari, Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab’s ex-lawyer Abbas Kazmi, MTV Splitsvilla 2 winner Sakshi Pradhan, Pakistani actress and comedian Veena Malik, director Mahesh Bhatt’s son Rahul Bhatt, actors Ashmit Patel and Sameer Soni, Pakistani cross dresser Begum Nawazish Ali, model and actress Sara Khan, Devender Singh alias Bunty the thief, television actress Shweta Tiwari, model Aanchal Kumar, dacoit Seema Parihar and winner of 2004 Gladrags Manhunt Hrishant Goswami are expected to generate more buzz, as they remain locked in the House for more than three months, with around 35 cameras, following every move of theirs round-the-clock.
